I was at my Grandma’s farm in Indiana, when Elvis Presley came on the radio. Grandma said, “When I hear him sing a shiver goes up my spine.” I was around 8 years old and didn’t understand charisma, but I knew Elvis must be someone special.
I painted Elvis as he looked in 1961. For his clothing, I chose a Kahala Aloha shirt in a 1960’s heritage print, in the color Wave. And what better setting for him to play ukulele than Treasure Island Beach in Laguna!
