I drew this portrait of Princess of Diana purely for the enjoyment of spending (imaginary) time with this beautiful, gentle, person. When my sister saw the drawing she commented, “She looks like she’s in heaven.” I wondered, where else would she be?

Diana, Princess of Wales (born Diana Frances Spencer; 1961 – 1997)was an iconic figure in British history, known for her humanitarian work, fashion sense and her charming personality.

She was the first wife of King Charles III and mother of Princes William and Harry. Diana undertook royal duties on behalf of the Queen. She was admired for her dedication to various causes, particularly her support for the elimination of landmines and her work with children suffering from HIV/AIDS. She was a leader of fashion in the 1980s and 1990s. Diana’s death in a car crash in Paris in 1997 shocked the world and left a void in the hearts of millions.
